Connections between our Food, Farmers, Environment and Health
In this modern fast paced world most of us take the food we eat for granted
Where is it grown? How is it grown? Does it really matter?
What are the consequences for our own health, the land, the farmers, and the society?
Are we paying enough attention to the health of our agriculture and farmer community?
This Picnic / Walkathon Event is to benefit the poor & marginal farmers so that they can follow Sustainable farming methods, Non Pesticides farming, Organic farming to improve their standard of living and livelihood.
Group of 11 people participated in this Event on July 9th 2011. Food & Friends offers 11 special diets to meet their clients’ nutritional needs. Vegetarian, mild and soft are just a few options that are available. HfH Volunteers helped packing these meals from 10 AM to 12:30 PM and packed around 1200 meals. Volunteers expressed that taking part in this activity was a wonderful experience of satisfaction and fun.
